In the second of the series, The Arctic, it’s Agent Karis Deen who must confront her darkest hour. After extended leave, Karis returns to The Abbey, the United States’s Defense Clandestine Service special training facility, to learn that Russia has launched underwater drones and planted a flag on the ocean bed, defying the Arctic Council’s agreement and leaving no doubt that the massive continent of shifting ice—and the unexplored depths below—is the site of a new Cold War.
